Description
Instructions for use in horses
As a seasonal preventive measure (for example, during rainy months) to avoid the occurrence of the problems described above.
- In environments prone to mud, high humidity, poorly drained pastures, or paddocks
- For horses that work or spend a lot of time outdoors on various terrains.
- For animals with weak hoof walls or those prone to frequent hoof issues.
Components and Action
Mineral Clay
Rich in silica, magnesium, and natural trace elements. It absorbs excess moisture and impurities, keeping the hoof dry and clean. Supports the natural water balance of the horn, contributing to its elasticity and firmness. Provides a soothing effect on areas prone to irritation or mechanical stress.
Vegetable Tar
A powerful natural antiseptic and water-repellent. Forms a barrier against bacteria, fungi, and moisture, protecting the hoof from rot and maceration. Helps maintain the hardness and cohesion of the hoof wall while stimulating the regeneration of keratin tissue.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
A natural emollient and nutrient, rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Penetrates deeply into the horn, preventing dryness and cracks. Makes the hoof elastic and shiny, improving its resistance to external agents.
Why It Is Useful
Horses often face environmental and management conditions that put their hooves under significant stress: mud, persistent moisture, standing water, and frequent movement on wet or muddy surfaces. In these situations, several problems can arise, such as the deterioration of the outer hoof wall (water infiltration, weakening of the structure); bacterial or fungal infections, like Thrush, which thrive in damp and poorly ventilated environments; White Line Disease or weakening of the bond between the hoof wall and sole when moisture and microorganisms penetrate the hoof; and overly soft or deformed hoof walls due to excessive water, which compromise stability, shape, and proper weight-bearing function.
As a result, the hoof becomes more vulnerable and less functional, increasing the risk of lameness, reduced performance, and higher maintenance costs.
Instructions for Use
- Thoroughly clean the hoof.
- Apply the ointment by hand (wearing a glove) or with a stiff-bristled brush.
- Stir or mix the product if needed before application.
- Spread it evenly over the outer hoof wall up to the shoeing line.
- For enhanced protection, apply a generous layer and leave it on for 10–15 minutes.
- Repeat the application as needed, depending on the horse’s condition and environmental factors.
