Lard (purified animal fat) is rich in saturated and unsaturated fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic). The heat treatment at 130\u00b0C removes impurities and microorganisms, improving stability and shelf life. Functionally, it creates a dense, protective lipid base that adheres well to the hoof wall, reducing water loss and softening dry horn. It also serves as a natural carrier for other liposoluble active ingredients (oils, vitamins, waxes).<\/p>
